3/9/2013 – SFMF Comedy Show
The SFMF would like to thank everyone for attending last night’s comedy show at PPAC. All of the comedians were in top form and regardless of the amount of money raised, it was a success. A room full of laughter is always a good thing. Any amount of money and awareness raised toward our ultimate goal is worth the time and effort.
We would like to thank Tom Stewart, Shane Snider, Mike Murray, Ace Aceto, Stephanie Peters, Don Jamieson, Jim Florentine, and Craig Gass for not only donating their time and putting heart and soul into their performances, but for giving up a paying gig on a Friday night, forcing family and friends to come out and buy tickets to see an act they have seen and heard ad nauseum, helping to promote the show over, and over, and OVER again, and in the case of the national performers, driving or flying for several hours just to be here to donate their talents and make people laugh.
Putting together an event like this cannot be done without the help of several people and we would be remiss if they were not mentioned here:
94 HJY for their unwavering support in promotions and sponsorship,
PPAC for donating the facility,
IATSE members that worked for free or at a VERY reduced rate last night,
Hampton Inn in Coventry for donating all rooms,
East Coast Screen Printing for Tshirts,
1150 Oak Bar & Grill and Henry Ottaviano for donation of catering for backstage,
The Rock Junction (Rick and Henry Ottaviano) for donating the Limo Ride and Champagne package for auction purposes,
Donovan Williams and Graphic Innovations for all printing services,
Dean Duhamel for all poster and Tshirt design work,
Cyn Knight for promotions/ marketing assistance,
and Scotty Dunbar for coming to sell his new CD single and donating all sales.
Thank you all again. We should have some totals in a few days, and although the sales were light with the weather being crazy at the last minute, we had a wonderful night. We are grateful for all of the support.
3/6/2013 – SFMF would like to extend a special Thank You – once again- to everyone at 94HJY for their unwavering support. For 10 years, they have never failed to be the number one cheerleaders for every Station related event and we could never do this without them. The 94 HJY 10 yr Anniversary Commemorative T-shirts raised $3,120. We would also like to thank East Coast Screen Printing for the generous donation of the Tshirts at no cost. Please support your local businesses, these people support their own.

Station Fire Memorial Foundation Announces Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Celebrity Apprentice Fame Has Been Added to All Star Benefit Comedy Show
The Station Fire Memorial Foundation announced today that that Dee Snider will be hosting the upcoming benefit Comedy Show entitled “Station Fire Memorial Foundation Comedy Show Featuring Craig Gass and Friends”.
While perhaps best known as the lead singer of 80’s sensation, Twisted Sister, there is so much more to Dee Snider. He has starred in several reality TV shows including The Celebrity Apprentice, Gone Country with John Rich, MTV’s Rock The Cradle with his son Jesse and Growing Up Twisted, an A&E series featuring the entire Snider family and their Long Island lifestyle. He is also a frequent host on MTV Networks and his own long running nationally syndicated radio show House of Hair is heard on more than 200 stations in North America, houseofhaironline.com. His recent starring role on Broadway in the hit musical Rock Of Ages generated national TV appearances on The Today Show, CNN’s Joy Behar Show and a legendary spot on The Jimmy Fallon Show.
Dee is no stranger to the Station family. He selflessly stepped forward in 2008 to help organize the successful ‘Phoenix Rising’ concert that was a resounding success for the Station Family Fund. We are grateful for his continued support.
The show will feature many well-known comedians including headliner Craig Gass, known for his regular appearances on Howard Stern and his many impersonations of people like Sam Kinison, Gene Simmons and Al Pacino. Gass’s numerous credits include Comedy Central’s Roast of Gene Simmons, Sex and the City, Las Vegas, King of Queens, Family Guy and American Dad.
Among the featured acts will be Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson. Florentine and Jamieson are the co-hosts of VH1 Classic’s hit heavy metal talk show series, “That Metal Show”. Jim Florentine is best known for his work on Comedy Central’s show Crank Yankers. Don Jamieson is also a co-host on “Beer Money,” a fast-paced, non-traditional sports quiz show airing on SNY (SportsNet New York). Jamieson is an Emmy award winner for his work on HBO’s “Inside the NFL”.
Local well known comics Stephanie Peters, Ace Aceto, Mike Murray and Tom Stewart will also be lending their talents, along with Shane Snider, the resident comic in the Snider household.
The event will be held on March 8th, 2013 at the Providence Performing Arts Center. The show begins at 8:00pm and ticket prices start at $30.00. Tickets are on sale now through the Providence Performing Arts Center Box Office (401-421-ARTS & www.ppacri.org). The net proceeds from this event will go to the Station Fire Memorial Foundation
